Real American Retro Toys didn’t begin as a business idea — it began with a moment.

After 25 years in government work, I found myself in a season of transition. The structure that had defined my life for decades suddenly shifted, and with it came a season of rest. It was a time of deep reflection, prayer, and seeking God’s direction for what would come next.

My 16-year-old son and I went to a local toy show together. I thought it would be a fun afternoon. Instead, it became a defining moment.

I watched his eyes light up as he held those toys — the same way mine lit up decades earlier. He wasn’t just interested… he caught a vision. He began asking questions about the stories, the characters, and the history. And then he said words I’ll never forget:

“Dad… we could do this.”
